Dr. Oetker U.K. Selects IRI to Provide Accurate, Impactful and Relevant Market Insights
CHICAGO – Oct. 25, 2005 – Information Resources, Inc. (IRI), the leading global provider of enterprise market solutions for the consumer-packaged goods, retail and healthcare industries, today announced that Dr. Oetker U.K., a division of the Bielefeld, Germany-based company that has produced high-quality foods since 1891, has selected IRI as its preferred provider of marketplace information, business insights and access solutions.
A relatively new business in the United Kingdom grocery market, Dr. Oetker is one of the overall European market leaders for frozen pizzas. In fact, Dr. Oetker is the market leader in 11 out of the 26 countries in which it sells frozen pizzas and is No 1 in the U.K. with its thin and crispy Pizza Ristorante.

Under the two-year agreement, Dr. Oetker will leverage syndicated and custom IRI InfoScan® retail tracking services, which offer all-store, census-based, point-of-sale data from supermarkets, drugstores and mass merchandisers. In addition, Dr. Oetker has commissioned a shopper insights project to gain qualitative and quantitative research for optimal category management.
