To enter: Log on to YouTube.com/savvycents (“Web site”) between 12:01 a.m. ET 09/23/09 and 11:59 p.m. ET 11/06/09 and log into your YouTube account or register with YouTube. You must be a member of the YouTube Web site and comply with its terms and conditions to enter the contest. Membership is free. Follow the onscreen instructions to enter and upload your video submission (“Entry”).
Entry: Video entry should show how you, your spouse/partner and/or your family are making your dollar work for you during the recession. How are you changing your healthcare and shopping habits, and what makes you a prime example of the new savvy and thrifty consumer? Entrants are required to agree to these Official Rules at the time of entry by using the accept feature at the Web site. Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. ET, 11/06/09, when the contest ends. All Web site entrants must have a valid e-mail address. In case of dispute as to identity of the winner who enters, entry will be declared/made by the registered user (meeting eligibility criteria) of the YouTube account, and if a prize is won, it will be awarded to that registered user. Entries generated by a script, macro or other automated means will be disqualified.
Entry must meet all of the following requirements, or it will be disqualified.
You must abide by these requirements and with YouTube’s terms and conditions. IRI reserves the right to prescreen, monitor and remove postings, all at its discretion.
- Entry must be in one of the following formats: .mov, .avi., .wmv or .mpg
- Entry must be in English.
- Entry must be between 1 and 5 minutes
- Entry must be compliant with YouTube’s posting requirements and terms and conditions, posted at YouTube.
- Entry must not violate third-party rights including, but not limited to: copyrights, including music copyrights, trademark, and right of publicity. Entry must not highlight third-party trademarks, company names or logos. Do not use imitations of famous people or characters from movies/shows etc.
- Entry must be original, unpublished, the sole property of submitter, and not previously submitted in any other contest.
- Entries must not include unsuitable content or depict or incorporate: unsafe behavior or situations; obscenity; disparagement of any product or person; or other offensive conduct or material, or otherwise include inappropriate content.
- You must have written permission from any identifiable person, who appears in, is heard in, or otherwise contributed to the video Entry (“Participant”). If a Participant is a minor, parent/legal guardian must grant written permission. Participants must pass along all rights for usage to IRI. You must have each participant sign the “Participant Release” form, found at www.youtube.com/savvycents, in the “Download” tab, and provide such release to IRI as requested.
Additional Entry Requirements
By submitting an Entry you agree that IRI has the unrestricted right to: use your video Entry in whole or in part, commercially or non-commercially, in any media known or unknown, in perpetuity, worldwide, including the right to publish and display the video Entry for advertising and publicity, and to edit and make derivative works, all without additional review or compensation. Additionally, you agree that IRI may post your Entry (including your name) on its Web site(s) and/or its Web pages on third-party sites.
You agree that by submitting this video, you relinquish all rights, as outlined herein, and the Entry, and its content becomes the property of IRI.
As a condition of participation in the contest, entrant and all Participants agree that if, in the event their likeness, including performance, voice and image in any form, as incorporated in the Entry, in whole or in part, are used in any advertising such that the use is subject to the SAG Commercials Contract, each agrees to sign such standard contract and accept the minimum amount of compensation due pursuant to the SAG Commercial Contract.

- Under the contest introduction video, select “View comments, related videos, and more”.
- This will take you to a page where you can “post a video response”.
- Then, select “upload video” and follow instructions.
To be considered for the IRI Savvy Supermarket Cents Contest:
- Each video submitted on the IRI Savvy Cents Channel must include a title for the video, the name(s) of the contestant(s), category for consideration
- AND -
- Each contestant MUST also contact savvysupermarketcents@gmail.com with the following details:
- Title for the video submitted
- Name(s) and age(s) of the contestant(s)
- Category for consideration
- Date video was submitted

Judging: All submitted videos will be featured on www.YouTube.com/savvycents between 12:01am ET 09/23/09 and 11:59pm ET 11/06/09. Judges will select five finalists for each category - Family, Individual/Single, College, Couples with no children - from all eligible entries received by 11/06/09. Entries will be judged based on the following criteria: 30% originality, 30% creativity, and 40% adherence to contest subject matter. In the event of a tie, the Entry with the highest score in each category will be deemed the winning finalist. Video entries will also be eligible to be selected as the “Savvy Supermarket Cents” audience favorite conducted through a popular voteat: http://us.infores.com/savvycentscontest. In the event there are not enough eligible entries received, Sponsor shall, at its sole discretion, choose a lesser number of finalists than stated in these official rules.
Finalists: Finalists will be notified via an e-mail on or about 11/16/09. Finalists must follow the directions set forth in the notice, sign a release, and provide a signed release for any other parties featured in or who otherwise contributed to the video entry, and return all to IRI (Sponsor) as set forth in the notification by 11/23/09 or finalist will be disqualified and will forfeit any prize, and another finalist may be selected.
Finalists’ videos will be featured on www.YouTube.com/savvycents between 12:01am ET 11/16/09 and 11:59pm ET 11/30/09 during which time contest judges will determine category winners, the Audience Favorite and the Grand Prize winner. In the event of a tie, judges will determine the Grand Prize Winner based on the original judging criteria.
Prizes: One (1) Grand Prize Winner will receive a $1000 gift card to the grocery, mass merchandiser, drug store or club store of their choice. One (1) Audience Favorite winner will receive a $500 gift card to the grocery, mass merchandiser, drug store or club store of their choice. Four (4) Category First Prize Winners will receive a $250 gift card to the grocery, mass merchandiser, drug store or club store of their choice.Expenses not specifically stated are the sole responsibility of the winner. Gift Cards are subject to the terms, conditions and restrictions as printed on the Card. No cash substitutions for prizes will be permitted and prizes are nonrefundable and nontransferable, except at the sole discretion of Sponsor. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prize of equal or greater value. Federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner.
Winners: Winners will be notified via email on or about 11/23/09.
